Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026
For the Trip helps travellers plan a trip day by day and find tours and tickets from partner sites. This Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.
Controller and privacy contact
The controller for this website is Individual Entrepreneur Sergey Shesternev, business identification number 305619541, registered at Georgia, Tbilisi, Vake District, Besarion Zhgenti Street, N 49, Floor 1, Apartment N20. Privacy and data-rights requests can be sent to hello@forthetrip.com.
Information we collect
- Your account: your email address; your name and profile photo if you sign in with Google or Apple and they share them; the avatar the site gave you; when the account was created.
- Signing in: the one-time codes we email you, stored only as a hash and valid for 10 minutes; your sessions, with the IP address and browser they were started from.
- Your trips and saved tours: trip names and dates, the plans you add and anything you type into them, such as flight numbers, addresses, confirmation numbers and notes.
- Clicks to partners: when you follow a link to a seller, we record the tour, the city, the page you came from, the time and a random click id that we pass to the affiliate network to match commissions. This record has no IP address and no link to your account.
- Messages you send to hello@forthetrip.com.
We do not need your passport, payment card or other travel documents, so please don’t type them into your trips. Bookings and payments happen on the sellers’ sites.
How we use it and why
- To sign you in, keep you signed in and show you your trips and saved tours: this is the service you ask us for.
- To send you sign-in codes by email: the service you ask for.
- To count clicks to partners and reconcile our commissions: our legitimate interest in funding the site.
- To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix errors: our legitimate interests.
- To answer your messages and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data and do not use it for advertising.
Cookies and browser storage
- better-auth.session_token (called __Secure-better-auth.session_token on HTTPS): an HttpOnly cookie that keeps you signed in, for up to 60 days. It is set only when you sign in and removed when you sign out.
- ftt:pending in your browser’s session storage: remembers what you tapped (for example “+ Trip”) while you sign in, so that it happens afterwards. It is removed as soon as it has been used.
We use no analytics or advertising cookies.
Service providers and other sites
- Server infrastructure: hosts the website, its API and database.
- Spaceship (Spacemail): sends sign-in codes and handles mail to our addresses.
- Google and Apple: only if you choose to sign in with them. Their own privacy policies apply to that step.
- eSIM Spotter, our sister site: eSIM plans and prices on our pages come from its database. No personal data is sent to it; if you follow a link to esimspotter.com, its privacy policy applies.
- Sellers and affiliate networks: links to tours go through Travelpayouts to the seller, for example WeGoTrip. Once you leave For the Trip, their privacy notices apply.
International processing
You may use For the Trip from any country, and the providers above may process information in countries other than yours. Processing by a seller or another site you go to is governed by that site’s own privacy notice.
How long we keep it
- Your account, trips and saved tours: until you delete them or ask us to delete your account.
- Sessions: until you sign out, at most 60 days.
- Sign-in codes: 10 minutes.
- Click records: they don’t identify you; we keep them for reporting.
- Emails: as long as needed to answer and to keep any necessary business or legal record.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, port or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Write to hello@forthetrip.com and we will act on your request, for example delete your account with all its trips and saved tours. You may also complain to a data-protection authority.
Children
For the Trip is not meant for children under 16, and they should not create an account.
Changes
We may update this Policy when the service or our data practices change. The current version and its date are always on this page. See also our Terms of Use.
